New York Hardcore 1986-1993 unfinished book

Now available for download is my long awaited but vastly unfinished book about the New York City hardcore and punk scene of 1986-1993. After many people recently asking me to do something with this material, I decided to put what I had together and release it as a PDF. It's just over 200 pages of reading and reference materials. I have explained to many the reasons why I stopped work on this project, so I will not go into them here. Thanks to all who helped out and who took the time to answer the questions.

So for what it's worth, here it is. Please let people know about this through the social media method of your choice. I want this to get out there.

Even The Score Fanzine #1-3

Even the Score was a hardcore music fanzine from South Carolina in the early 1990's. It covered bands like Snapcase, Earth Crisis and Bloodlet and had other writings. The editor has posted the first three issues, with a fourth still to be scanned.

You can also go to the myspace page to find out more of the history of this fanzine...

The History of Hardware Omnibus 2009

Ok here it is reconstructed from various files that were previously only available on the Hardware Fanzine CD. This PDF has my history of Hardware Fanzine, Brett's intro, all the flyers were made and handed out to advertise the 'zine and interviews conducted by others with us. This pretty much lays out what Brett and I accomplished with Hardware.

The DFPS site now has Hardware completely uploaded...go download everything you may have missed...

Boiling Point #4

Here is the last issue of Boiling Point. There were more issues planned but the editors all seemly went there separate ways after this one.

I'm not sure the original scanner but it was with the #1 and #2.5 (Wend?) issues. It has been up on the net for a bit now. I had to fix the page sizes and give the cover the correct light blue cover. There is some issues with the Inside Out pages, one page is cut at the bottom. Again, if there is anybody out there that can scan #2 and #3, please let us know!

Marching For Trash #2

Here is issue #2 of the punk rock/personal fanzine, Marching For Trash. It was published in 1990 by Rich Oliver, also known as Rich Trash. He was one of the original group of ABC No Rio-ers. In this issue Rich "interviews" a few of the folks involved and has personal writings...insanity ensues for sure.

Hardware Fanzine #10

Well, here it is after 12 years...the long lost "issue" of Hardware. If you didn't get the Hardware Fanzine CD I was selling a few years ago, you never have seen this one. The 21 pages here are what was laid out before I gave up. There has to be more reviews lying around but they are probably lost. Brett tried to finish it with a couple of other folks, though it just didn't happen. A cover was never made then, so I put together one now.

These pages are raw as hell. There are no picture credits (I believe Justine DeMetrick took most of them, definitely the Breakdown one, we were all at that show in Princeton, NJ) and there are some bits missing off the pages...but hey it's something!

Let us know what you think of this...

Equalizing X Distort 'Zine Archive

I have know Stephen Perry of Equalizing X Distort Radio & 'Zine for years now and featured his material on my old blog. He has his own blog set up for everything now. Go to his site and check out the 'zine archive on the sidebar which has links to his 'zine Equalizing X Distort. The most current one is October 2009 and always is packed with interviews and reviews. Click on the picture of the 'zine to download.

While you are at it, give a listen to his radio show...
